(COLUMBIA, MO) - The city of Columbia announced today that there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony to dedicate the East Broadway (Route WW) Improvements Project at 9 a.m. Thursday morning at Broadway and Jacobs Place.
The project construction began in January 2005 and was funded by city/county ΒΌ cent sales tax funds ($195,116), MoDOT ($4,327,256), Surface Transportation Program Enhancement Funds ($338,744) and federal Surface Transportation Program Funds ($400,000).
Emery Sapp and Sons Inc. was the successful bidder on the project in the amount of $4,789,783. The project consisted of the pavement widening of East Broadway from Old Highway 63 to Brickton Road, the relocation of the Trimble Road intersection with the addition of traffic signals at this intersection, the realignment of Jacobs Place with Green Valley Drive, bridge replacement over Hinkson Creek, storm drainage piping, a 9-foot-wide pedway, 5-foot-wide and 6-foot-wide sidewalks and other incidental work.
