Free electronic products recycling

(COLUMBIA, MO) - The city of Columbia Public Works Department
and Mid Missouri Recycling would like to inform citizens of the
opportunity to recycle electronic products free of charge.
For the rest of June and July, Mid Missouri Recycling is
accepting electronic products at its facility located at 6104 Brown
Station Road. Electronic equipment, including computers, monitors, mice,
keyboards, printers, faxes, televisions, VCRs and stereos, may be
dropped off at this location from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through
Friday.
Businesses with large quantities of electronic equipment may
schedule pickups with Mid Missouri Recycling by calling Cathy Rupard or
Stan Fredrick at 474-3997. Certificates of Destruction for monitors,
CPUs or hard-drives are also available for businesses.
The city of Columbia encourages citizens to use this opportunity
to safely recycle electronics at no charge. When obsolete electronics
are not recycled properly, hazardous or toxic materials can cause health
and environmental problems. Safely recycling or reusing outdated
electronics helps keep substances like lead and mercury from harming
people and the environment.
For more information, please contact Cathy Rupard or Stan
Fredrick at Mid-Missouri Recycling, 6104 Brown Station Road, 474-3997,
or email recycle at socket.net. Also, visit the city of Columbia's Web
site at www.GoColumbiaMo.com (Go Recycling) or contact the Public Works
Department at 874-6291.
