Late evening fire damages southwest Columbia home - update

COLUMBIA, MO (May 1, 2006) -- Columbia firefighters responded to a
report of a house fire at 1311 St. Andrews at 8:41 p.m. on Friday, April
28. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered fire and smoke pouring from
the garage and roof area of the single story home. 

Fire investigators have now determined the cause of the fire was embers
from the BBQ grill coming into contact with combustible materials on the
house.

Damage was estimated to the building and contents at $150,000.
