Mayor's Council on Physical Fitness and Health presents the Spring
Fitness Forum May 9

(COLUMBIA, MO) - Each spring, the Mayor's Council on Physical
Fitness & Health (MCPFH) hosts a Fitness Forum. This year's forum will
consist of both a fitness & health expo and an awards ceremony and will
be held on Tuesday, May 9, at the Activity and Recreation Center (ARC).

The fitness & health expo will be held from 6-7:30 p.m., with
the award ceremony at 7:30 p.m. The forum is a cooperative effort
between the MCPFH and members of Columbia's health & fitness
community; it is being conducted as part of the Bike, Walk and Wheel
Week activities scheduled for the entire week.
The primary objectives of the Forum are to promote physical
fitness and health within the Columbia community and to recognize
members of the community who have made significant contributions or
improvement in fitness and health. Nominations for the Council's award
program are made by individuals in the Columbia community. All award
winners will be recognized at the ceremony and receive an award from
Mayor Darwin Hindman.
Additionally, in mid-April the millionth visitor passed through
the doors of the Activity and Recreation Center. This occasion will be
celebrated during the awards ceremony, as well. The millionth visitor
will be in attendance and will receive an award from the mayor.
Admission to the forum is free. There will be free T-shirts to
the first 150 attendees, free food and free information and services
provided by the vendors. For more information, contact Tery Donelson,
Spring Fitness Forum chair, at (573) 268-8430.
