Columbia Fire Department concludes Basic Recruit School Class with
graduation ceremony for nine recruits

COLUMBIA, MO (November 15, 2006) -- The Columbia Fire Department is
proud to announce the graduation ceremony for Basic Recruit School
2006-2 will be held on Thursday, Nov. 16, at 7 p.m. in the Council
Chambers, 701 East Broadway. 

Four recruit firefighters for the Columbia Fire Department, two for the
Marshall Fire Department and three for the Sedalia Fire Department will
have completed the 10-week course. During their training, the recruits
have experienced both classroom and actual hands on job training to
prepare them for their future careers. Columbia Fire Department
graduates will be placed into the shift rotation and assigned to a field
training officer for guidance and evaluation over the next 18 months. 

Graduating on Nov. 16 are:
Columbia Fire Department: Josh Card, Kyle Edwards, Jared Hatfield, Mike
Logan Sr.
Marshall Fire Department: Randall Davenport, Ryan Stedem
Sedalia Fire Department:: Kyle Rupe, Daniel Shaw, Robert Spraggs

The public is cordially invited to the event. The Columbia Fire
Department Honor Guard will present the colors followed by opening
remarks from Assistant City Manager Tony St. Romaine and Fire Chief
William Markgraf. 

Refreshments will be served following the ceremony.
