‘Learn to Compost’

(COLUMBIA, MO) - The Columbia Public Works Volunteer Program is
offering free composting workshops to the public on these Saturdays at
10 a.m. - Oct. 28 and Nov. 11.
Residents attending the workshop will learn composting methods
and how to improve the soil. Composting is easy to learn and recycles
organic matter that you and your soil produce, such as grass clippings,
leaves, vegetable peelings and weeds.
Composting workshops are held at the Compost Demonstration Site
located at Capen Park (off Rock Quarry Road, south of Stadium).
Participants who attend the workshop will be eligible to receive one of
the two compost bins offered by the city. Workshops are free, and there
is no pre-registration.
For more information on composting, please contact the Public
Works Volunteer Program at (573) 874-6271 or visit the Web site at
www.GoColumbiaMo.com (search: composting).
