Human Rights Commission and Cherry Street Artisan sponsor 'Teen Speak!
>From Fears to Friendships'
COLUMBIA, MO (December 5, 2007) - The Columbia Human Rights Commission,
in collaboration with Cherry Street Artisan, will sponsor “Teen
Speak!” Thursday, Dec. 6, 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. It will be hosted at
Cherry Street Artisan, located at 111 S. 9th St.
This celebration is an open opportunity for teens to share experiences,
feelings, ideas, struggles, hopes and dreams through their artistic
expressions of poetry, rap, spoken word, song and music.
The theme for the evening is “From Fears to Friendships.” Fear is
often at the root of prejudice, intolerance and hate. What is your
personal battle or message to overcome fear?
What is your personal story about getting past the fear and finding
friendship?
Adults and teens are invited to this free event. Contact Nanette Ward
at the Human Rights Commission to sign up at (573) 874-7488 or
