Graffiti abatement efforts gain new volunteers
(COLUMBIA, MO) - The Public Works Department announces that on
Saturday, Oct. 27, Karis Community Church members will work to remove
graffiti in the downtown area as part of the city’s graffiti abatement
efforts. Volunteers will help remove graffiti from city-owned
structures, utility boxes and light posts. Volunteers will meet at 9
a.m. at the Cherry Street Artisan, 111 South Ninth St., and spread out
throughout downtown.
Rapid removal is essential to stop the vandals. Karis Community
Church members are volunteering their time to help put an end to this
vandalism. They hope their vigilance will keep the taggers from
returning.
