Go Skateboarding Day planned

COLUMBIA, MO (June 13, 2008) - Don’t miss Go Skateboarding Day! The
event, geared toward celebrating National Skateboarding Day, will be
held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, at the Columbia Skate Park
in Cosmo Park. The event will feature skate team demos, free time to
skate and helmet giveaways. It is free of charge. 

All ages are welcome to participate and the event is open to skaters of
all skill levels and for those who just want to watch. Participants will
be able to enter a high ollie contest and a longest manual contest for a
chance to win prizes. Helmets are required for both contests, regardless
of age. The day will also feature great music and food. Don’t miss out
on the raffle and giveaways.

Go Skateboarding Day is presented by Columbia Parks and Recreation,
Small Time Skates, Tiger Pilot Club and Youth Community Coalition. In
addition, the Missouri Department of Transportation will have the crash
vehicle on display.
