May 8 'TEEN SPEAK! @ The Artisan'

COLUMBIA, MO (May 7, 2008) - The Columbia Human Rights Commission and
the Cherry Street Artisan invite the community to a free open forum for
local teens to share their creative expressions of rap, poetry, spoken
word, music, song or drama. 

“TEEN SPEAK!” @ The Artisan
Thursday, May 8, 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
111 So. Ninth Street

There will also be an opportunity for Q & A with newly elected First
Ward Councilman Paul Sturtz and youth/audience discussion about local
and national politics and the democratic process. 

“TEEN SPEAK! @ The Artisan” was first held in November 2007. It is
hosted periodically to provide youth with a place to be heard and
supported by the community and to strengthen inter-generational
relationships and understanding. 

Teens do not need to sign up in advance. Walk-ins are welcome.
