Parks and Recreation to rededicate Cosmo-Bethel Park

COLUMBIA, MO (October 7, 2008) - Columbia Parks and Recreation will
rededicate Cosmo-Bethel Park this Sunday, Oct. 12. The rededication will
take place at 1 p.m. during the department’s One Sky, One World
kite-flying event. 

The 40-acre park at 4500 Bethel Street features many improvements and
some new features. A new playground was constructed at the park in 2007,
as well as a new picnic shelter on the south side of the park.
Construction is ending on four new tennis courts, new restrooms and a
new shelter, which replaces the cluster of shelters there previously.
The improvements were made possible by the voter-approved park sales
tax. 

The rededication will include remarks by city officials, a
ribbon-cutting ceremony, giveaways and refreshments.
