Linemen assist with Texas recovery efforts

(COLUMBIA, MO) - Eight Columbia Water and Light linemen headed
to the Houston Texas area to help restore power after Hurricane Ike
downed power lines. The Missouri Public Utility Alliance in Columbia
coordinated the project through a mutual aid program to help utilities
during widespread outages. The linemen left on Monday morning with three
trucks to assist them with the electric restoration work. They will
assist Center Point Energy, who had requested 4,000 linemen. The
Columbia crews are expected to be working in the area for at least a
week.
NOTE: The Missouri Public Utility Alliance can be reached at (573)
445-3279.
