Fire at 4200 Rock Quarry claims one life

COLUMBIA, MO (January 20, 2009) - The structure fire reported at 3:05
a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20, at 4200 Rock Quarry Road destroyed a shed
behind a home. Fire crews discovered a shed fully engulfed in flames and
quickly extinguished the fire. 

Investigators later discovered a body in the rubble of the shed, which
was completely destroyed. The deceased has not been identified at this
time. 

Investigators from the Columbia Fire Department, the Columbia Police
Department and the Medical Examiners Office are currently working at the
scene to determine the origin and cause of the fire. The cause of the
fire and the cause of death remain under investigation.

Additional information will be released as it becomes available later
this morning.
