Public Hearing Set for Master Plan of RegionalPark
 
COLUMBIA, MO- The Columbia Parks and Recreation Commission is holding a public hearing to take comments on the proposed master plan for the Gans Creek Recreation Area and the A. Perry Philips Park (southeast regional park). 
 
The hearing will be held at 7 p.m.on Thursday, Feb. 18 at the ARC (1701 W. Ash).
 
After extensive public input, park planners have developed a proposed master plan for the new regional park to send through the City Council approval process. The proposed plan was presented to the City Council in a report at the February 1 Council Meeting. Staff had revised the plan after receiving public comments at meetings held last September.
 
At the Feb 1 meeting, the City Council approved a motion to refer the master plan to the Planning & Zoning and Parks & Recreation Commissions. 
  
The Parks and Recreation Commission will take comments under advisement as they prepare a recommendation for the City Council in regard to the Master Plan for the park.
