Downtown 10th and Cherry parking garage to be cleaned

COLUMBIA, MO (June 15, 2011) - The City of Columbia Public Works Department announces that beginning Monday, June 20 at 6:00 a.m. crews will be working on the 10th and Cherry Parking Garage. Parking maintenance crews will be scrubbing and washing down the entire garage.

This work will require that sections of the garage be blocked off; one level at a time will be closed to parking starting at the top and working down. Cleaning is estimated to take approximately one week to complete.
 Individuals with parking permits for the 10th and Cherry garage will be honored at the 6th & Cherry and 5th & Walnut garages. Permits will be honored in the hourly parking spaces in both garages as long as permit holders display their existing hang tag.  We ask everyone to be patient during this work; the fewer number of vehicles in the garage will allow maintenance crews to work faster and open the garage sooner.
