Columbia Regional Airport and American Airlines set to launch 2nd daily nonstop Chicago flight

COLUMBIA, MO (April 1, 2014) - American Airlines will begin a second daily nonstop flight between Columbia Regional Airport and Chicago O'Hare on Tuesday, April 2.
The new flight consists of two legs, a daily 6:00 am departure from COU to ORD, and a 6:35 pm departure from ORD arriving at COU at 7:45 pm. The new flight compliments the existing flight which departs COU for ORD at 1:40 pm and returns from ORD to COU at 4:55 pm. The new flight will also provide additional options for connecting flights out of ORD to destinations worldwide.
City and American Airlines representatives will officially launch the new flight with a ceremony and ribbon cutting by the Columbia Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors at 11:30 am on Tuesday, April 2 at Columbia Regional Airport. Mayor Pro tem Barbara Hoppe and American Airlines representative Don Morris will deliver brief remarks prior to the ribbon cutting.
Media and the public are welcome to attend the event.
