City Channel wins Telly honors
COLUMBIA, MO (April 24, 2014) - Two City Channel employees were recently recognized for their creative excellence in production. Liz Fornango and Dustin Hawkins received bronze Telly awards from the Silver Telly Council, a prestigious judging panel of more than 500 accomplished industry professionals.
Fornango, a producer, videographer and editor, earned the Telly award for her story titled “Artist in Residence: Beth Nybeck at Battle High School.” In 2013, students from Battle had the unique opportunity to create aluminum artwork with Nybeck as part of the Cultural Affairs Artist in Residence program. Fornango documented Nybeck’s etching with muriatic acid process. The video may be viewed at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sLXqAWsufc.
Hawkins, a producer, videographer and editor, earned the Telly award for his story titled “Percent for Art: Tidal Murmur by Beth Nybeck.” Hawkins documented Nybeck’s creative process from the artist’s Kansas City studio to the Short Street parking garage where her three stainless steel sculptures were installed. The video may be viewed at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbHxqZvSnuY.
