Parks and Recreation Presents Family Fun Fests

COLUMBIA, MO (May 12, 2014) - Learn about exciting and new ways to stay fit and healthy at the first Family Fun Fest of 2014! Parks and Recreation will hold the “Fitness is Fun” Family Fun Fest from 6 to 8 p.m. on May 21 at Flat Branch Park. This month’s theme:

 

Fitness is Fun, sponsored by the ARC

The event will be full of fun demonstrations, hand-on activities, and performances. Performances include Flipz USA Gymnastics, Hometown Cloggers, Lil Lady Bulldogs Dance & Cheer Team, and martial arts demonstrations.

 

Other activities at Family Fun Fest will include hopscotch, jump roping, four-square, a 65 foot long inflatable obstacle course, and “Golfzilla” (inflatable golf target) Also, kids will have the chance to check out a fire truck from the City of Columbia.

 

The Fun Fests feature a new theme each month and offer free entertainment for the entire family such as music, special performances, art activities, bounce-houses, hands-on activities, balloon-animals, face painting and fun for all ages.

 

The Family Fun Fests are sponsored by the Convention & Visitors Bureau, KPLA 101.5, KOMU TV8, and Rockin’ Rents Inflatable Entertainment.
