New COMO Connect schedule adjustments effective November 3rd

COLUMBIA, MO (October 24, 2014) - COMO Connect will be implementing a few schedule and route adjustments to the city wide bus system based on tracking data and customer feedback received in the first three months of service. The new adjustments will be effective Monday, November 3rd and customers can start picking up new map and schedule booklets starting Monday, October 27th, or view the changes online next week.

Drew Brooks, the city's Multi-Modal Manager says "Regular feedback from our customers is critical for COMO Connect to be successful in the long run. It is a service designed to benefit the community, so it's important that we can adjust and adapt to what we're hearing from customers."

New technology on the bus system is also very helpful in accurately tracking ridership and making sure the city's limited public transit resources are placed where they will benefit the community the most. Automatic passenger counters recently installed on buses track where customers are boarding and exiting the bus, and that data is then analyzed for future adjustments to the system. The DoubleMap GPS tracking also helps staff track the buses in real time to identify timing issues and make sure buses are able to make their timed connections between routes.

November 3rd adjustments include timing shifts on the 2 Gold, 8 Light Green and 9 Purple schedules throughout the day, an adjusted evening schedule for the 5 Blue route due to traffic delays during rush hour, and slight route changes to the 4 Orange and  7Dark Green routes. When customers pick up the new map and schedule booklets, they will also notice an updated schedule for the 1 Black route that was adjusted as needed back in September, and more information regarding passes, fares and off-peak schedules.
