CPD RAISES MONEY FOR COYOTE HILLS CHILDRENS HOME
COLUMBIA, MO (December 1, 2015) - Several razers grew dusty last month when Columbia Police Department staff participated in No Shave November to raise money for a local children's home. In its second year at CPD, No Shave November brought in $1,312.00, which was presented today to Coyote Hills Children's Home.
At the end of October, staff began donating $20 each and was allowed to go without shaving for the month of November. Staff held contests for the furriest faces which the Evidence Unit was responsible for judging. SWAT/CNT Training Coordinator Officer Jeff Forck (picture attached) took the prize for best beard and Office Lane Nelson won best moustache.
Officer Forck presented the donation to Liza Thompson, Volunteer Coordinator of Coyote Hills Children's Home. We are very proud of our staff for their support of such a great organization. Coyote Hill houses abused and neglected children as both long-term and emergency shelter. For more information on their home, or to make a donation, check out their website at www.coyotehill.org.
