Southampton Drive open 7 weeks ahead of schedule

COLUMBIA, MO (April 26, 2016) - Work has been completed on Southampton Drive, and all lanes are now open to traffic.

Southampton has been closed since March 15 for major roadway repairs by the Columbia Public Works Street Division. The work was originally expected to be completed in mid-June.

The project represents an investment in roadway infrastructure of $350,000 with funding from the 2005 Capital Improvement Sales Tax.

Original Release:

Beginning on Tuesday, March 15 at 7 a.m., Columbia Public Works Street Division will begin major roadway repairs to Southampton Drive between Providence Road and the roundabout at State Farm Parkway.

The work will require lane closures and one-way only traffic on portions of East Southampton Drive and State Farm Parkway. The work is expected to be completed in mid-June, weather dependent.

Important note to motorist -

East Southampton Drive from Providence Road to the roundabout at State Farm Parkway will be one-way eastbound during the project.

State Farm Parkway from the roundabout at Southampton Drive will be one-way northbound to just south of the City of Columbia Drop Off Recycling Center.

This project represents an investment in roadway infrastructure of $350,000 with funding from the 2005 Capital Improvement Sales Tax.

Motorist and non-motorized transportation users are encouraged to find alternate routes and use caution when in the work zone.
