Public Works crews continuing to treat and monitor for refreeze overnight
COLUMBIA, MO (January 9, 2016) - With today's snowfall coming to an end, Public Works crews will continue to treat trouble areas with salt while monitoring for refreeze overnight.
Wet streets will have a good window this afternoon to dry out before temperatures drop again around 10:00 p.m. so slickness due to refreeze on the roadways is not expected to cause any major issues.
Today's full 22 person crew has been reduced down to an 8 person crew, and they will be replaced by another 8 person crew coming in at 7:00 p.m. to work on streets overnight.
Motorist and pedestrians are encouraged to use caution when traveling.
Customers can monitor snow operations at www.comosnow.com for updates, road conditions, and city treatment efforts.
