INCIDENT DETAILS:

The crash occurred as vehicle #1, a 1968 Dodge Dart, was traveling eastbound on I70 near the 129.8. Vehicle #2, a 2004 Kenworth Semi, was traveling eastbound on I70 near the 129.8.  Vehicle #3, a 1998 Ford E350, was traveling eastbound on I70 near the 129.8.  Vehicle #4, a 2016 Freightliner Semi, was traveling eastbound on I70 near the 129.8.  Traffic on eastbound I70 began slowing for an unknown reason. At some point, vehicle 1 crashed into the rear of vehicle 3. Vehicle 1 also was rear ended by vehicle 2. This caused vehicle 1 to get pushed into the side of vehicle 4. Vehicle 1 then left the roadway to the right and crashed into the ditch. This caused vehicle 1 to roll, partially ejecting driver 1. Driver 1 was pronounced deceased on scene. Passenger 1 was transported for non-life threatening injuries. Drivers 2, 3 and 4 were not injured. Contributing factors in the crash are still under investigation.
