Fatal crash in the 3900 block of Providence Road

COLUMBIA, MO (March 28, 2016) - TYPE OF INCIDENT: Fatality Crash

ACCIDENT LOCATION:     3900 block MO-163 (Providence Road)                       

 

DRIVER 1:     Candace Burditt

                     Injured: No

                     Seatbelt use: Yes

                     Alcohol/Drug use: No

 

PASSENGER 1:     Male Juvenile                                                           

                           Columbia, MO                                               

                           Age: N/A

                           Injured: No

                           Seatbelt use: Yes

 

                                               

DRIVER 2:     Tyler Davis

                    Columbia, MO           

                     Age: 23

                     Injured: Fatal

                     Helmet use: Yes, DOT compliant

                     Alcohol/Drug use: Unknown/Pending investigation           

 

INCIDENT DETAILS:

The crash occurred as vehicle #1, a 2008 Jeep Wrangler, was traveling northbound on MO-163 near the 3900 Block. Vehicle #2, a black 2014 Kawasaki motorcycle, was traveling southbound on MO-163 near the 3900 block. Vehicle #1 began making a left turn onto Peachtree and vehicle # 2 crashed into the side of vehicle #1. Vehicle #2 caught on fire during the crash. Driver 2 was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. Driver 1 and passenger 1 had no known injuries. Contributing factors in the crash are still under investigation.
